New Zealand, or Aotearoa (Maori for ’Land of the long white cloud’) is located downunder in the South Pacific Ocean, 2000 km (1200 miles) to the east of Australia. The country is made up of two main islands - the North Island and the South island - and it’s the first in the world to see the light of each new day.

Auckland
Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city, with a population of 1.4 million people (approx) spread over an area of approximately 1000 square kilometres (400 square miles).
Auckland is known as the City of Sails and has an average of 1 boat per 4.5 head of population. Fittingly, Auckland has twice been the home of the America’s Cup regatta (1999-2000 & 2002-2003).
